In our experience it has been sufficient for this committee to meet once a year in order to report on progress and get suggestions regarding changes which could be made.  It is important that this committe does not get involved with the daily running of the project.

Mobile Science Laboratory Staff:
After years of in-service training the laboratory assistants are able (together with class teachers) to run the most practicals on their own.  This empowerment of teachers and laboratory assistants is essential to the sustainability of a project such as this.  Besides the running of the finances, the project leader’s role is that of mentorship, fundraising, consultation and directing operations.

Vehicle
We have a customized VW Combi which suits our needs perfectly.  See photo gallery for photographs of the vehicle.

Office
Very little space is required for this.  We operate very successfully out of a small area.  Besides storage it is important that this space includes desk space for administration work, a basin with running water for washing glassware, electricity and an adjacent parking space for parking the vehicle.
