Staffing

• Must be headed by an experienced and qualified teacher
• Two lab assistants are required.  These assistants should be local Grade 12 graduates who have passed the lab subject and English on the higher grade.

Training

• Project leader must have valid drivers license
• The majority of training of laboratory assistants is in-service training
• A run through of each practical before entering schools is essential
• It is advisable that laboratory assistants get their drivers license
• Training is required in care for equipment
• Laboratory assistants may require some training in administrative duties such as regular inventory of equipment
• Project leaders may need some basic financial training
